Vision Statement

Jairus House provides encouraging music at cancer clinics through the ministry of PrayerSong.

Jairus House website offers resources for spiritual healing to those who are battling cancer and other devastating illnesses.

The website provides an uplifting picture and thought or verse of the day, links to helpful websites including a blog written by a cancer survivor, and downloadable pictures and texts.

Our dream is that eventually, Jairus House will offer a quiet, peaceful place of beauty where people with cancer and other devastating illnesses can get away from sterile hospital rooms and the four walls of their own house.

Guests will be able to walk in nature (colorful gardens, comfortable benches in the sun and in the shade, a pond or gentle stream, paths that meander past breath taking vistas, labyrinths to walk for meditation and reflection) away from the noise of the city and the traffic.

Guests will be able to hear nature’s sounds, not jarring horns, blaring TVs, and phones ringing. Everything will be handicapped accessible.

We will encourage visitors to enjoy solitude and to allow the beauty of the space to heal the soul. Counselors will be available if one needs to talk in a safe place where what they are experiencing will be understood. Or they can share their experiences with others who have been through similar situations. A variety of music will be offered at the regularly scheduled concerts, and small ensembles will travel to cancer hospitals and clinics to minister music to patients.

People will be able to come for a week or a weekend, coming back as needed. They will find resources for support and assistance as they are ready to pursue help. People can request music either recorded or live for their loved ones with cancer.
