Recommended books:
Safe in the Father's Hands(Knowing God's Comfort) by Emilie Barnes (Harvest House Publishers, Oregon 2001).
Though small in size, this book of short devotional thoughts features a Bible verse and words of encouragement on each beautifully illustrated page. Wright's flowers and birds make reading a delight. References to cancer battles and issues are scattered throughout the book, but are woven together with many life topics such as faithfulness, blessing, confidence, and joy. The upbeat tone and quick read make it an excellent resource for someone with cancer.
Praying Through Cancer by Sorensen/Geist (W Publishing Group, Nashville TN, 2006.)
A 90 day devotional written by women who had cancer and have survived. Most give a "big picture" point of view that encourages you to see the light at the end of your long tunnel. There are also entries of a practical daily nature.
From Grim to Green Pastures : Meditations for the Sick and Their Caregivers by Richard L Morgan (Upper Room Books, Nashville TN 1994).
Excellent 2 page readings giving a Scripture verse, a short homily, and a closing prayer. The author has had cancer, and bases many of his readings on personal experiences. Common sense advice for those wishing to minister.
